In a candid interview with Bustle, the Madame Web star opened up about her role as a stepmom to Martin’s kids, Apple and Moses, from his previous marriage with Gwyneth Paltrow. Johnson, who casually referred to Moses as her stepson, expressed her openness to having children of her own. Raised by Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson in a blended family, who have children from their other relationships, Johnson says she values connections beyond blood ties. Although the Fifty Shades star didn’t delve into more private details, it seems the actress is comfortable living under one roof with Chris’ children.
Talking about being a stepmom, Dakota says, “I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart.” She added, “I grew up in a family that was so big, and I just believe in the saying ‘Blood is thicker than water.’ The actual saying is ‘The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb,’ which means that the connections with people you choose are more solid than the connections to the people you’re actually born to.”
